Pennsylvania Department of Aging, State Plan on Aging

To ensure that we develop a State Plan on Aging that is responsive and responsible, seven Community Listening Forums will be held in regions throughout the Commonwealth. These Forums will provide concerned stakeholders with an opportunity to tell us what they think about the programs and services we provide, are they benefitting older Pennsylvanians, or are they not effective; what they think is being done well or what needs to be improved.

Input received during the Community Listening Forums will be woven in to the existing framework of the State Plan and will enable us to create a Draft State Plan for final review and feedback. Public comment on the Draft State Plan will be received during three Public Hearings to be held in May. While the Public Hearing locations and dates are scheduled, specifics on registration are forthcoming.

We invite you to learn more about the State Plan on Aging by visiting aging.pa.gov and make arrangements to attend a Community Listening Forum where we will listen to what older Pennsylvanians and other concerned stakeholders have to share with us.   If you are not able to attend a Forum, please take a few moments to complete a brief online survey.  It is intended to help you share comments and concerns.

Additional details, including time, date and location of each event, can be accessed by visiting the www.aging.pa.gov

Whether you are an older adult, caregiver, aging services provider, an advocate, a healthcare professional, or an elected official, your voice needs to be heard.  In receiving this communication,  we seek your help with spreading the word about this important opportunity to engage in our State Plan on Aging process by providing input at the Community Listening Forums, testimony at the Public Hearings, or completing our online survey. Please share this information with those in your network, and those you serve.

Should anyone require special accommodations at a forum or hearing, please contact us at StatePlanOnAging@pa.gov.
